Something Special!

Today felt nothing like a regular day. When I woke up, I didn't look at the clock or my phone, instead, I looked at your face, and smiled. As you lay there next to me, sleeping peacefully, I felt like the luckiest girl in the world. 

I carefully picked up the empty bottles and wine glasses, making sure you did not wake up. I cleaned the kitchen and watered the plants, smiling all this while thinking about last night when I had placed my head on your chest and slept while listening to the rhythm of your heartbeats.

When you came out of the room and said good morning, I could not contain my happiness and so I jumped in your arms and kissed you. I watched you make your special recipe of maggi while I tried to make tea for you just the way you like it. I couldn't have asked for a better start to my day. 

Listening to your favorite songs as we sat and had breakfast and then losing to you in all those games of cards. I really cannot put my finger on what was the best part of my day. Was it when we talked for hours or was it when we silently watched TV lying across from each other? 

There was nothing really special about today, yet, it was nothing like any other day.
